Brief biography:

Hassan Ghassemi is a professor at Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT). He has completed his studies: undergraduate at Sharif University of Technology, Iran, MSc at Gdansk University of Technology, Poland, PhD at Yokohama National University, Japan, and two years training at IHI company, Japan, and post-doctoral at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada during 1984~2000. He worked about two years at Petroleum University of Technology at Mahmoodabad branch during 1989-91. Both teaching and researching are the highlights of his days. His major field is Hydro-mechanics, Marine propeller and propulsion, Ocean renewable energy, Dynamics of offshore structures. He has published over 150 articles in refereed journals, 9 books and also over 200 conference papers. He is a member of the editorial board of several international journals. He has been awarded exemplary professor of the country in 2017 from the MSRT, awarded as a "Distinguished professor" in 2021. Also, awarded "Foreign Talent" in Shandong Province, introduced by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in China (August 2022).
